We’re excited to introduce the new Hamilton-Wentworth Elementary Teachers’ LOCAL (HWETL) website and a refreshed brand that better reflects who we are today—and where we’re headed.

For more than a century, elementary educators in Hamilton-Wentworth have come together to support one another, advocate for public education and stand up for the rights of students, teachers and school communities. Our new brand builds on that history while giving HWETL a clearer, more contemporary voice.

More Than a New Look

A new logo and visual identity are only part of the change. The new HWETL brand is about making it easier to understand who we are, what we do and why our work matters.

At the heart of HWETL are our members: dedicated educators who work every day to create positive learning environments for children across our communities. Our role is to support those educators, represent their interests and make sure their voices are heard.

The new brand brings those ideas together with a visual identity that is confident, approachable and connected to the people we serve. It reflects an organization that is proud of its history while remaining focused on the future of public education.

A Website Built for Our Members

The new website has been designed to make information easier to find and more useful to the people who need it.

Members can access resources, information about union membership, professional development opportunities, services and important updates from HWETL. The site also provides information about our Local, our people and our history, helping members and the broader community understand the important role HWETL plays in Hamilton-Wentworth.

We’ve also created a Public Resources section to make useful information available to parents, students, educators, community members and anyone interested in public education and the work of elementary teachers.

A Stronger Voice for Public Education

HWETL is part of a larger community, and we believe it is important to be an active participant in that community.

Our members are not simply employees of the education system. They are educators, mentors, advocates, neighbours and community members. They understand that strong public education is essential to building strong communities.

Through this new website and brand, we want to make that connection more visible. We want to share the work our members do, provide reliable information and contribute to meaningful conversations about education in Hamilton-Wentworth.
